We recommend consulting a dentist first if possible, to decipher if a night guard is a recommended.

The OTC brands of night guards are typically hard guards, made to be one-size-fits-all. They are not considered a proper impression or custom-fit. They are boiled in hot water and then the user bites down to make a makeshift impression that is not professionally made. These can sometimes cause pain or discomfort, they often do not retain their shape and they can even sometimes cause more problems than they prevent over long-term use and wear.

Our guards are professionally-custom molded and carefully constructed with the same materials that are used and recommended by dentists. We simply provide you an alternative method of obtaining these products, without the expensive dental visits.

All of our night guard kits come with detailed instructions with how to make your impressions. It is an extremely simple process that involves placing a putty into a mold, and then biting down for a few short minutes. Then the mold is left to cool, and then returned to us in the provided mailing envelope.

Our kits come with everything you may need to make a quality impression. We have taken into consideration that mistakes might happen, and include backup supplies in the kit, just in case you mess up and need to try a second time. If for any reason you mess up again, just let us know and we will send you out a replacement kit. We are also available to answer any questions you have.

We guarantee all of our products and they all come with a 30-day guarantee.  If for any reason, you are not 100% satisfied, just let us know and we gladly assist you with a return and refund if necessary.

This depends on a variety of factors, including how often you wear them, what type of guard you purchase, whether you grind, bite, clench, chew and/or how much, etc. All night guards will eventually wear with continued use. However, if you purchase a quality night guard instead of an over-the-counter one, and you take good care of it, they can last up to 5 years in some cases.

You do not need both. Either top or bottom will do. Most people will go for the top guard for grinding or clenching. The best way to know whether you need a top or a bottom guard is typically by trying them both and deciding for yourself, as every case is different. In some cases, you may use both if your dentist recommends. However, this is not commonly the case, and most people typically just use one.

Yes, it is completely safe to use whitening gel with your night guard.

Sure. We have thicker and thinner products for different needs. If you are a heavy grinder, it is recommended to get a thicker guard so it will last longer and better protect your teeth. If you do not grind as hard, then a thinner one would suffice, and be more comfortable for you.

Always brush your teeth and floss before and after wearing your night guard. It is safe to rinse and soak the night guard in lukewarm water. Do not use hot water, as it can distort the mold and cause the fit to become obscured.

Some casual wear is normal with continued use and not a case for concern, as it may not prevent the night guard from effectively doing its job. However, if you are chewing through it or see holes, cracks or extreme signs of wear, it is probably time to replace your night guard. Since all cases are different, it is hard to put an exact amount of time. Therefore, we generally say to examine your guard and possibly consider getting a new one after 6 months or so. If you see no concerning signs of wear, you may wait longer.

If you have had some serious dental work done, anything beyond a cleaning, that might cause you to have a different shape or bite, then Yes. It is recommended that you get a new guard and have a new impression so that the change matches the impression of the guard accurately.
